An unincorporated roadway is a roadway within the unincorporated communities that is managed and maintained by Public Works.

Florence-Firestone for All: Achieving Vision Zero in South Los Angeles
Florence-Firestone
The project includes proven safety enhancements and a mix of physical improvements, planning and educational efforts for a community disproportionately impacted by traffic crashes.

Lennox Vision Zero Traffic Safety Enhancements
Unincorporated Lennox
The project consists of constructing pedestrian safety enhancements on Hawthorne Bl, Inglewood Av, and Lennox Bl, roadway segments identified as Collision Concentration Corridors in the County’s Vision Zero Action Plan. The project will be implemented in two phases. Phase 1 is the installation of quick-build enhancements with temporary materials followed by the conversion of those enhancements into permanent concrete improvements in Phase 2.

Together for Road Safety – Rural Roadway Safety Plan
Unincorporated Antelope Valley

Los Angeles County Public Works is developing a Rural Roadway Safety Plan for the unincorporated communities in Antelope Valley as part of the County’s Vision Zero initiative to eliminate traffic fatalities. The Plan will identify roadways where additional safety enhancements are beneficial, along with recommendations for those areas.

Implementation of Vision Zero on Mulholland Highway
Santa Monica Mountains
The project seeks to enhance the safety along portions of Mulholland Highway that were closed from damage from the Woosley Fire. In 2023, the Board of Supervisors directed Public Works to evaluate existing traffic conditions along Mulholland Highway and consider opportunities to enhance the safety of the roadway in partnership with the local community, Public Health, and law enforcement.
